Exercise Therapy

Tailored rehab programmes in conjunction with chiropractic care is proven to achieve the quickest results and fastest recovery times.

Due to our predominately sedentary lifestyles, muscles get weaker and tighter which exacerbates current problems or creates new ones. For people who are fortunate enough not to have chronic back problems, but have recently suffered from an acute episode, it is likely that it will reoccur two or three times within the same year.

A good time to start some specific exercises is when pain levels have decreased, and your muscles are looser and the joints in your spine are moving correctly. If you try and strengthen your body before correcting any dysfunctions and imbalances, you essentially reinforce the problem. The correct exercises, carried out at the correct time in the healing process can speed up your recovery, and reduce the risk of the problem returning.

During the examination and subsequent treatments, we will discover areas of weakness and suggest exercises for you to do at home. People who are active on a regular basis tend to have less pain and recover quicker when they do encounter an injury.

We do however appreciate that exercise is not for everyone, so it is important that you convey this to us so we can find alternative measures and alter your treatment plan accordingly.
